Genus Clione Pallas, 1774
This genus is monospecific(# Clione l.l. limacina). Clione limacina subsp. limacina forma limacina is the type of the genus.
These are naked pelagic snails, up to 4 cm long, with a mainly transparent body and orange-red colour in the tail, tentacles and mouth organs. The reddish to brown visceral mass is seen through the body wall.
