Genus Oxygyrus Benson, 1835
Oxygyrus is monospecific. This is a large shelled, pelagic snail, 1 cm in diameter, characterised by large eyes, a single swimming fin and a non-calcareous keel and teleoconch. There is only one whorl visible, the others are within the umbilicus (Oxygyrus keraudreni).
