Genus Cavolinia Abildgaard, 1791
Cavolinia consists of five species; two species groups are recognised. The type species is Cavolinia tridentata. The shell seems to be composed of two valves. The caudal spine is usually present. The aperture is slit-like and subdivided into sections by the closing mechanism (Cavolinia genus).
