Genus Janthina
Janthina is composed of five valid species. The type species of this genus is Janthina janthina. They are large, shelled pelagic snails, up to 3 cm high. The dextral shell is more or less depressed, the aperture is large and oval. The colour is deep violet (Janthina genus).
