Genus Planktomya
Planktomya does not really belong to the group of pelagic molluscs. A single species P. henseni, based on juvenile specimens, is described in this genus. Small (0.1 cm) bivalve species, adapted to a long period of pelagic life. It belongs to the meroplankton as it is a juvenile of a benthic species (Planktomya henseni).
