in Gymnosomata the wall of the buccal cavity frequently shows modifications, in the Pneumodermatidae two lateral and sometimes one median arms are found covered with stalked suckers, these are the sucker- or acetabuliferous arms. They can contract completely into the hood over the head and proboscis, they are evaginable and used to catch prey.
